Occupy Madison Tiny House Village

An exemplary program of a community organization partnering with a local school (La Follette High School) to build a tiny house community specifically for the homeless. Occupy Madison has done an excellent job documenting how to suscessfully work with a variety of stakeholders in addition to building a beautiful village. The village encompasses the idea of community including gardens, a workshop, and public space. The village currently has six occupied tiny houses with room for nine total.

Idaho Tiny Houses for the Homeless

A group in Boise Idaho are doing what they can to better define community and home. Working together with those in need, they have built a tiny house with many recycled materials, and have plans to further develop the project. Mathew Scott blogs about their activities, and it is possible to track this truly grassroots effort as it develops further.
